As the title suggests, you applied the rule of thirds here and in my opinion it works great in this shot. But what I like more about it is the way you put emphasis on the tree in the foreground by using a shallow focus.

The contrast between the dark cloudy sky and the landscape lit by soft golden sunlight (looks like the picture was taken just after sunrise or just before sunset) is very pleasing.

I've been looking at it for a while now, but I can't find anything that I would change about this picture. Congratulations on this great shot!
